Monkey Puzzle Colchester are looking for fantastic Nursery Apprentices to join our nursery team and help to provide outstanding education and early years childcare for our children.

The Monkey Puzzle apprenticeship programme provides you with on-the-job training and qualifications, giving you the ability to be a permanent member of our team on a paid working contract whilst obtaining early years qualifications from levels 2 to 5. At Monkey Puzzle Colchester, we are looking for Apprentices to join our team for 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
We want to provide you with a great experience and the best opportunity for success, to do this we work in partnership with an industry-leading training provider to bring you a fully accredited course and supply you with an individual tutor to support you throughout your learning journey.
These are funded for people of working age in England who have a contract of employment. They are funded via the apprenticeship funding route which is aimed at new and existing staff.
You may be taken on as a young Apprentice under the Apprenticeship wage, or you might be an experienced staff member who is earning a full salary.
Either way you are paid to learn as all aspects of the qualification are delivered in the workplace during work time.

Key Responsibilites
Under the guidance of senior staff, you will provide the highest level of care and education for all children attending the setting. Whilst gaining hands on experience in a high-quality childcare setting you will be working towards a recognised childcare qualification.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Provide a positive practice role model
- With support contribute to a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Support the implementation of age-appropriate activities and curriculum
- Supervise and support children at all times
- With support ensure that equality of access and opportunity is provided to all children, parents, staff and visitors
- Ensure that all children are kept safe
- Notify Designated Officer of any safeguarding concerns
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, colleagues and visitors
- With support develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers
- Ensure confidentiality, where appropriate, is maintained
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake a shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery
- With support work as part of a team to ensure the company’s values are maintained
- Attend monthly staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line manager
- Assist with mealtime routines and ensure proper hygiene practices
- Maintain a clean and organized nursery environment
